Question:

Hi Im interested in a trailer brake for my 97 chevy k2500 pick up truck. I already have a 7 pin installed on my pick up. I just need to know what would be a good budget friendly trailer brake. Thanks for your help.

Hey Ryan, thanks for reaching out. For a budget-friendly controller, I recommend the Curt TriFlex NEXT Trailer Brake Controller # C24VV. It's a proportional controller, so it applies the trailer brakes in proportion to how hard you're braking. That gives you much smoother, more predictable stops than a time-delay controller, especially when towing heavier loads.

Since your 1997 Chevy K2500 already has a 7-way connector, you'll also need the Universal Wiring Adapter # C51515 to complete the installation. The controller includes a mounting bracket and all of the hardware needed to mount it under the dash. It's a solid, dependable controller that performs well without a premium price tag.

What kind of trailer do you tow?
