Minimum Water Pressure Required For The Dylux Tankless Water Heater

Updated 08/19/2026 | Published 07/25/2026

Question:

Hey etrailer, Some of the campgrounds we visit don't have the best water pressure. Will this water heater still work or does it need a lot of pressure before it will ignite?

Hey Ryan! The Dylux RV Tankless Water Heater # DY54FR is actually designed to work with fairly low water pressure. It can ignite with water pressure as low as 14.5 PSI, which is lower than what you'll find at most campgrounds.

Where do you typically go camping?

Some of the state parks we camp at don't have the greatest pressure and I don't want to have trouble gettin the water heater to fire up. You think that will be a problem?

@CodyB 14.5 psi is really low, so I don't see it being an issue. Any lower than that and you're not really getting enough water pressure for anything anyway.
