Question:
I have a 2004 Breckenridge Park Model and need to replace the Atwood GC10a-2 water Heater. A couple of questions: 1. what model do you recommend to replace it with. 2. Some research shows that i need 12vdc for a tankless unit, but our unit has a hybrid gas/elec that operates off of 120v and propane. We do not have a 12vdc source that i am aware of.

Hi Dave!
We can definitely help with that. What you will need to do is wire a tankless water heater directly to your RV 12V DC battery as a 12 volt heater cannot run using 120VAC (well, it will very very briefly). This isn't too difficult and is a pretty common thing to have to do when upgrading an older unit like you have. If you are willing to do that, the Dylux RV Tankless Water Heater - Propane - 60,000 Btu - Black # DY54FR would be a great option.
It's the closest I could find in dimensions (Dylux: 12-5/8" wide x 12-1/2" tall - Atwood: 16" tall x 15-1/2" wide) and this has 6 times the Btu power (Dylux: 60K - Atwood: 10K). So way more power for instant and endless hot water, but you will need to shore up the install space a little to get it to fit properly. The price is also hard to beat at the moment.
If you didn't want to do all that (or you don't have a 12v battery to wire it to), you would need to stick with a tanked option as they are the only ones that will run on 120V. We do have a few options for that and I have them listed below:
Dometic WH-16GEA XT RV Water Heater - 10 Gal - Gas/Electric - 10,000 Btu - No Door # DMC33JF
Fogatti HybridShower RV Water Heater - 12K Btu - Propane/Electric - 6 Gallon Tank - 120V - Gray Door # FG74ZR
The Dometic is really pricey for some reason, but it is the only 10 gallon option we have that is close to your dimensions. If you don't mind a lower capacity, the Fogatti is a much better deal. And it has more power. And it comes with the door. Go Fogatti out of these two.
Do you have your Breckenridge permanently parked or do you take it out on trips? I know some of their models were popular for setting up cabins and second homes.

Thanks for the reply and recomendations! Our is a Park Model, fixed on site and does not have a 12v battery system, it is hard wired to the meter on site. I think the solution is a 120v to 12vdc convertor with the DY54FR, which will work with some framing and the convertor. Thanks again, Dave
