Is There a Gooseneck to 5th Wheel Adapter to Replace a Turning Point Pin Box?

Updated 07/25/2026 | Published 07/20/2026

Question:

Just wondering, Is there a 5th wheel Gooseneck Pin Box that works on a 2024 22RK Grand Design? It apparently has a Turning Point pin box as per call to Lippert service center.

There sure is Mike! To replace a Turning Point pin box, I recommend the Gen-Y Hitch Shock Absorbing 5th Wheel to Gooseneck Pin Box item # GY48GR. The brackets will match the bolt pattern the Turning Point attaches to and require no drilling to swap out the pin boxes.

The Gen-Y item # GY48GR pin box has a torsion flex cushioning system that operates similar to torsion axles. It does an amazing job of absorbing bumps, chucking, and road shock, which provides a smoother ride and significantly less stress on your 5th wheel trailer's frame.

You will also need the Safety Chain with 2 Hooks for Gen-Y 5th Wheel to Gooseneck Pin Box item # GY49GR. Safety chains are required for gooseneck connections and they are not included with the pin boxes. These will attach to that cross looking cutout by the Gen-Y logo.

What kind of truck are you pulling your Grand Design with, does it have the factory puck system or aftermarket gooseneck hitch, and how long is the bed? If you've got a short bed truck you're going to lose the turning clearance your rotating pin box provides. We've got a few options for offset gooseneck balls, I just need to know what setup you're working with. The Gen-Y item # GY48GR does not help with turning clearance.

You can add this information, along with any other questions you have, where it says Add Comment.
