Question:
Hi, I am looking at the etrailer XHD, part number e67ZR to flat tow my Jeep. Are there any D-ring adapters for this tow to attach it to an offroad bumber? Thanks!

Hi Ryan!
The etrailer XHD Non-Binding Tow Bar for Blue Ox and Curt Base Plates - RV Mount - 2" Hitch - 10.5K # e67ZR is typically a really good option, but in this case, it isn't going to be the best one. Unfortunately, there are no options available that will allow this tow bar to attach to those D-Rings without modifications to either the tow bar or the adapter, which would void the warranties. I can't recommend going this route. However, all is not lost. Check out the following adapters:
Roadmaster Adapter for D-Ring Bumper Mounts to Roadmaster Tow Bars - 3/4" Thick # RM-035
Blue Ox Off-Road Bumper Adapters for Blue Ox Motorhome Mounted Tow Bars - 7/8" D-Rings # BX88357
Roadmaster Adapter for D-Ring Bumper Mounts to Roadmaster Tow Bars - 1" Thick # RM-035-1
Blue Ox Off-Road Bumper Adapters for Blue Ox Motorhome Mounted Tow Bars - 1" D-Rings # BX88358
The two Roadmaster adapters (3/4" D-Ring and 1" D-Ring) will fit the Roadmaster Falcon 3HD Tow Bar - RV Mount - 2" Hitch - 10,000 lbs # RM27NQ and the two Blue Ox adapter (7/8" D-Ring and 1" D-Ring) with fit the Blue Ox Avail Non-Binding Tow Bar - RV Mount - 2" Hitch - 10,000 lbs # BX7420. Both of these tow bars are very similar to the etrailer option, but the adapters available for them will allow you to attach to the D-Rings on your Jeep. You will need to measure those D-Rings to get the correct adapter, but one of these will be the way to go.
One other thing to note, not all offroad bumpers with D-Rings are rated for flat towing use. If you haven't already gotten confirmation from the bumper manufacturer, it would be a very good idea to contact them and make sure.
Where are planning on taking your Jeep first?

I purchased the blue ox adapters for flat towing my jeep which is outfitted with an off-road bumper with D rings. The pin size choices were 7/8” and 1”. I measured my bumper and decided that I needed a 1” pin size. Upon further discovery and use, I would recommend going with the 7/8” since the paint finish on the bumper makes for a really tight fit and requires me to drive the pins in and out with a small hammer. The 7/8’s pin would have been better in my application. Hope this helps.

I am using the Blue Ox Avail tow bar with the Blue Ox 1” D Ring Adapters to attach to my Hammerhead Stubby off-road tow rated bumper on my Jeep Gladiator. I also bought the Hammerhead skid plate which has holes for the safety chains. I have a photo but am unable to post it on here for some reason.
