Shank offers up to an 10" rise and a 6" drop for your Equal-i-zer weight distribution system. Measures 16" long and fits 2-1/2" x 2-1/2" trailer hitches.
Getting your trailer level starts with enough height adjustment at the weight distribution head. This shank gives your Equal-i-zer weight distribution system up to 10" rise and 6" drop, giving your setup room to bring the trailer into proper position before you tow. This shank fits 2-1/2" x 2-1/2" trailer hitch receivers, placing the weight distribution system on a shank sized for that receiver. This shank is rated for 1,600 lbs maximum tongue weight and 16,000 lbs maximum gross towing weight.
Fine-tuning ball height depends on where the head assembly lands on the shank. Six adjustment holes give your head assembly multiple mounting positions, letting the final setup match the trailer height more closely.
Hitch hardware sits where road spray and weather can reach it. Dipped steel resists corrosion, helping the shank stay protected through repeated towing setup and removal.

Hi everybody. Andy here with etrailer. Let's take a quick look at this Equal-i-zer weight distribution shank. Now this is a shank for your Equal-i-zer weight distribution system and this is a solid steel piece that's designed to slide directly into your truck's two-and-a-half inch trailer hitch receiver. So this is going to obviously give you the mounting point for your weight distribution head assembly. Now, if you're setting up or you're upgrading your Equal-i-zer system, this is the component that actually connects the system to your vehicle.
One of the big benefits is going to be the adjustability. This has six adjustment holes which are gonna let you position the head assembly at the right height. That way you can properly level your trailer with your tow vehicle, which is obviously key for safe and stable towing. Now, you can use this in either the drop position, as I have it right now, or you can flip this over and use it in the rise position. If you do use this in the rise position, that's going to give you up to about a 10-inch rise.
In the drop position, it's gonna be about a six-inch drop. This is built from dipped steel, so it is designed to resist corrosion and hold up over time. As far as capacity goes, this is made for heavier duty applications. So the maximum tongue weight is gonna be 1600 pounds. The maximum gross towing weight is going to be 16,000 pounds.
Let me give you some measurements before I leave you. Looking at the overall length, we are sitting right at 16 inches, and then the overall height looks like right at about 11-and-a-half inches. So this is substantial and it is built for serious towing setups. Bad thing is I ordered the wrong one and sent it back. New one came and the box was empty. Box had a hole in it. You’d think a delivery person would realize a 50lb shipping sticker and a 0lb box.
