Will the Demco Autoslide Work with My Grand Design Reflection with Curt Helux Pin Box in 2026 Ram?

Updated 07/07/2026 | Published 07/02/2026

Question:

I am considering buying a ram2500 with a 6 foot bed and a grand design reflection 150 series 250ml that comes with a curt helux pin box. The GVWR for the trailer is only 10000lb Is the demco 18k auto slide going to work for this trailer or would you recommend a differnt hitch? The ram 2500 would have the oem prep.

Hello Andrew,

Thanks for writing in, great question!

Yes, the Demco Autoslide 5th Wheel Hitch # DM69GV will work well with your Grand Design Reflection 150 Series 250ML. Even though your trailer has a 10,000 lb GVWR, that is not too light for this hitch. The 18,000 lb rating is simply the maximum capacity, so your trailer is well within the hitch's operating range.

Since your Reflection has the CURT Helux pin box, you will also need the Demco Autoslide Locking Plate for Lippert Helux Pin Boxes # DM53KV. The locking plate is required for the Autoslide feature to work correctly because it keeps the king pin from rotating in the hitch during turns.

With your Ram 2500's factory OEM prep package, the # DM69GV is a great choice since it drops right into the factory pucks and automatically provides the extra cab clearance needed for a short bed truck.

Is this your first 5th wheel, or just getting a new set-up?

Andrew you’ll need to add the wedges to the hitch for that pin box . Ask the dealer for the exact specs and i believe they have it here at etrailer

I have the same truck and a Reflection 150 260RD. It works great. You will just need the Demco capture plate for the Helux pin box.

I have been using this hitch for over a year now and have to say I’m satisfied with it. Has done a great job keeping the RV away from the truck as per design. The puck system works great. So a couple negatives it is heavy and you need to be straight with the RV the hitch and un-hitch. This is my first RV so really don’t a good comparison how other hitch’s work but I don’t think you will go wrong with this hitch.

@Doug Thanks for the response Doug. It is really neat how this hitch works, no need to get out and pull the lever to make those tight turns =) Congrats on your first 5th wheel! What has been your favorite trip in it so far?

I have the ram 2500 2023 with the auto slide. When they are new it can be difficult lining up. Because everything is so tight but what helps is getting it set with the pin so you can see just a little daylight under the auto slide so the weight of the trailer is not all on the auto slide then it allows it to move and line up better.

@JoeyP Thanks for the call out on the stiffness when it is new Joey, nice to know there is a little bit of a break in before things get a little easier =)
