Question:
I need an expert to guide me. I want to purchase multiple locks and I want them all keyed alike. I have 2 tow vehicles and 2 trailers that I want to purchase locks for. Ideally, I would have 1 key that would fit all locks so that key could be used with either vehicle and either trailer. I need 2 hitch receiver locks, one for each vehicle. Then I need locks for each trailer type. One trailer has coupler style similar to a surge coupler part number DX56FR found on your site. The other is a standard channel tongue coupler similar to CT-5003-Z found on your site. I need locks that protect the trailer when it’s unhooked from the tow vehicles and also locks that secure it to the tow vehicle. By my count, that 6 locks, two for hitch receivers, two to lock trailer to ball hitch, and two to protect against theft when unhooked from tow vehicles. Can I get all 6 of those products keyed alike? If so, please direct me to those products.

Hey Josh welcome back! We do indeed have hitch and coupler locks that can all be controlled by the same key.
For your tow vehicles, I recommend the etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver Lock item # e98880 for 2" hitches or item # e98881 if you have a 2-1/2" or 3" hitch receiver. Please note that the 2" lock item # e98880 does not fit the Toyota receivers with the wider welds surrounding the receiver.
For your Channel Tongue Trailer Coupler like item # CT-5003-Z, you'll need the etrailer Trailer Coupler Latch Lock item # e98889. This lock is 1/4" in diameter and has a 7/8" inside pin length or span. That's the portion that actual inserts inside the latch as shown in the picture below.
For your Surge Brake Actuator like item # DX56FR, you'll want the etrailer Surge Brake Coupler Lock item # e98888. This lock is 1/4" in diameter and has a 3-3/8" inside pin length or span. This lock pin replaces the included push pin which comes with the actuator.
These coupler locks can be used to not only secure your trailer to your tow vehicle's hitch ball they can also be used to secure your trailer while in storage. The locking pin being inserted will prevent someone from connecting your trailer to their hitch ball.
Each of the locks listed above will come with two keys. You must purchase all of the locks at the same time and select Keyed Alike above the add to cart option on each one.
I highly recommend measuring the width of your couplers where the locks insert to determine how much inside pin length or span you'll need.
What tow vehicles are you using and what size hitches do they have?

Great. Thank you for the response. Both of my vehicles are Toyota, so I definitely know what you mean about the wider receiver. I will double check before ordering. I honestly don’t know how wide the receiver on the Sequoia is.
