Troubleshooting LED Clearance Light # MCL32ATB Not Working
Updated 07/08/2026 | Published 06/27/2026 >
Question:
Im having trouble with a product I purchased last year. Its from order 123031860. The product is MCL32ATB LED Clearance and Side Marker Light w/ Turn and Reflector - 3 Diodes - White Base - Amber Lens. The clearance light works fine, but the turn indicators are not functioning. Ive confirmed that current is running to the fixture, and Ive even run juice directly to the solder point on the front of the fixture. Am I missing something or is it defective?

Hey Paul, you've done everything needed to confirm that the LED Clearance and Side Marker Light # MCL32ATB you bought a year ago has an internal problem and would need to be replaced. If a light has power and ground and still doesn't work something is wrong and it would need to be replaced.

The only thing I can think of it to remove it, and hook the wires (I assume it's a three-wire: one ground, one clearance/head/taillight, and a third wire for turn signals) directly to the positive/negative terminals on your vehicle's battery. If either low or high brightness doesn't work, you'll need to replace it. If both work, there's a problem with the vehicle's wiring to the light. Or perhaps a blown fuse?

I have/had a similar problem with one of my side markers-added to help traffic. Anyway- similar problem. I had a blow out on trailer tire- took out the wiring. Reconnecting wires/light no turn signal when connected to truck. Wiring prooved good when testing circuits Including load testing of circuits. Used jumper battery and leads- turn signal portion would light during testing, but not flash when connected to truck. As a retired mechanic I'd like to assume I knew what I was doing-but in the long run I never got it to work properly again. Just haven't gotten around to replacing it. Mystery.
