Question:
Hi, I need a hitch bike rack to use with a rented Cruise America RV for transporting two bikes, a Lectric Xp4 step thru 62 lbs and a generic fat tire cruiser 45 lbs, to Burning Man. On the RVs, the 2inch hitch receiver is recessed behind the bumper by 3.5inch to 4inch depending on the specific vehicle. I want to determine if the Cycle-On 2 will work for me. How far does the rack hitch tube extend past the end of the hitch receiver before the arm I dont know what else to call it, angles up from the tube? Are there any other fitment concerns that you think need to be taken into consideration? thanks

Hey Steve, thanks for the pictures. The distance from the hitch pin hole to the closest part of the shank is right at 6-1/2" on the Saris CycleOn Bike Rack item # SAR36XR. You'll have plenty of room to clear the bumper on your Cruise America RV.
The CycleOn Bike Rack item # SAR36XR has a 70 lbs per bike capacity and is rated to be used behind motorhomes. It secures the bikes by the frame or seat post so it's going to work really well with your Lectric Xp4's step thru frame. The clamps are padded so you won't have to worry about damaging your bike. The wheel trays are designed to fit tires up to 4" wide. This would be the only fitment concern I have with your Generic fat tire cruiser bike. Other than that you're all set.
How wide are the tires on your cruiser bike and how far of a trip to burning man is it for you?
