The 118271 is no longer in production, so for your 2017 Chevy Traverse with a factory tow package, you'll want to go with Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness for Factory Tow Package - 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # C56245 & Universal Installation Kit for Trailer Brake Controller - 7-Way RV and 4-Way Flat - 10 Gauge Wires # ETBC7.
The Curt harness has a plug-and-play 4-pole connector for basic running, stop, and turn lights on your connected accessories; the etrailer kit includes everything you'll need to convert that 4-pole harness into a 7-way harness, allowing you to connect to the lights as well as brakes on a trailer while you're towing.
For the 7-way connection, you will want to make sure your vehicle is outfitted with a trailer brake controller like Redarc Tow-Pro Liberty Brake Controller w/ Custom Harness - Dash Knob - Up to 2 Axles - Proportional # RED44CR if the trailer has brakes in order to be able to use the brakes.
