Question:
Hi. I have a couple questions about this part. How much weight can this hitch tow, and what is its maximum tongue weight? How much weight can the integrated step safely support?

Hi Greg!
I will answer your questions for the Blue Ox Trailer Hitch Receiver w/ Integrated Step - Custom Fit - Class III - 2" # BLU28VJ in the order you asked them:
The # BLU28VJ has a maximum towing capacity of 5,000 lbs and a maximum tongue weight capacity of 750 lbs. However, you are always limited by the lowest rated component, so double check your owner's manual to see what you ProMaster can tow/carry.
I asked Blue Ox on this as it wasn't clearly stated anywhere. They said the step alone is rated up to 500 pounds, so it has a lot of capacity. Also be aware that if you have an accessory in the hitch, like a bike rack or something, its weight will need to be subtracted from that 500 pounds. Having a trailer attached really shouldn't affect the step's capacity as that is pretty well supported.
And though you didn't ask this one, I can also say this will fit your 2024 Ram ProMaster 2500, just make sure it doesn't have the remote proximity keyless entry. It will not fit properly if you have that feature.
Do you have your ProMaster set up as a camper or as a work van?
