Question:

I have a hardwired progressive industry 50 amp surge protector. Im looking at a Quattro ll 2400 /12v inverter. Would you want to wire inverter after surge protector?

Hey Eric, thanks for reaching out. Yes, that's how I'd wire it.

The Progressive Industries EMS/surge protector should be upstream of the inverter/charger, so shore power passes through the EMS first and then feeds the Victron Quattro II. That way the Quattro is protected from low voltage, high voltage, open neutrals, miswired pedestals, and surge events before any power reaches the inverter/charger.

This arrangement allows the EMS to monitor and protect all incoming shore power while still allowing the Quattro to handle pass-through power, inverter operation, battery charging, and transfer switching.

Do you do a lot of off-grid camping? What do you most want powered off-grid?
