Published 06/09/2026

Question:

We used by purchase the complete AC kitinch for the Furrion Chill HE ductless system. This kit came with the controller as well as a thermostat. We are now looking to purchase the Furrion Chill Cube ductless system FR59TD for a customers build. Does system no longer require the thermostat and controller?

Hi Morgan,

No, the Furrion Chill Cube Ductless System # FR59TD does not require a separate wall thermostat or controller like the older Furrion Chill HE ductless systems. The Chill Cube is designed differently and includes the rooftop unit, ductless air distribution box, and a wireless remote that controls all of the system's functions right out of the box.

When you mention the controller from the older Chill HE system, you're most likely referring to the control box that worked alongside the wall thermostat. On those systems, the thermostat communicated with the control box, and the control box managed the operation of the air conditioner. With the Chill Cube ductless system, those functions are integrated into the system itself, so there is no separate controller or wall thermostat to install.

Instead of using a fixed thermostat mounted on the wall, the included remote acts as the temperature sensor through Furrion's Follow Me feature. This allows the system to monitor the temperature where the remote is located rather than at a single spot inside the coach, helping provide more accurate and comfortable temperature control.

I completely understand wanting to verify this before ordering, especially when you're building a system for a customer and trying to avoid unnecessary components, rewiring, or confusion during the installation. The Chill Cube ductless setup simplifies the process considerably while still providing full control of the system through the remote.

What rig and power setup is your customer planning, hookups, generator, or off grid?
