Can I Use TireMinder i10 Sensors If My Dill Internal TPMS Sensors Have Failed?
Updated 06/04/2026 | Published 05/27/2026 >
Question:
I have the dill 1506-453 trailer kit on my fifth wheel. These are mounted inside each tire. They are not working and I don’t want to remove the tires for further replacement. Hence-can I use the tire minder i10 tpms on the stems without removing the Dill interior stems?

Hell Jerry,
Thanks for writing in.
Yes, you can use the TireMinder i10 TPMS # TM89FR without removing the failed Dill 1506-453 sensors. The TireMinder system uses external sensors that thread onto your valve stems and operate independently of the old internal sensors.
Before installing the TireMinder sensors, make sure your valve stems are in good condition. Metal valve stems are preferred since the sensors add a small amount of weight. Once installed and paired, the TireMinder system should monitor your tire pressure and temperature normally, and the included signal booster can help maintain a strong connection on a fifth wheel.
Are you getting your RV ready for any big trips this year?

The TPMS works great monitoring the trailer tire pressures but the monitor that mounts in the tow vehicle does not hold a charge for more than 3 hrs at best. We charge it up overnight before a travel day and we still have to plug it into a charger while we are driving.

The valve stems MUST be metal NOT rubber! The rubber ones will eventually fail especially in cold weather where rubber tends to get brittle.
