Question:
Hi. Can I ask what weight distribution/ sway control product would you recommend for my 2009TouaregTDI v6 3.0. I am planning to tow a 2012 Forest River Solaire 190x or a 2012 Jayco feather 213x Both are around 4500 lb dry weight but the Solaire seems to have a tongue weight of 620lbs. Thanks

Hey Gary. For your 2012 Jayco feather 213x and your 2012 Forest River Solaire 190x, I recommend the Fastway e2 Weight Distribution w/ 2-Point Sway Control item # FA92-00-0800. This system works with tongue weights ranging from 400 lbs - 800 lbs so it's going to be perfect for both trailers.
The Fastway e2 item # FA92-00-0800 has built in sway control that will keep your trailer in line with your SUV when you're going down the highway and make a sudden lane change or get passed by a semi. It's really helpful when you get sideswiped by a gust of wind too. This system includes a 2" shank but not a hitch ball.
Since the # FA92-00-0800 does not include a hitch ball, you will either need the 2-5/16" hitch ball item # EQ91-00-6100, or 2" hitch ball item # EQ91-00-6080 depending on the coupler sizes of your trailers.
Please note you will need room on your trailer's coupler between 27" - 30" back from where the hitch ball mounts. This is for the sway control brackets.
Do you haul anything extra on the tongue of your trailers, like a bike rack, tool box, or generator?

Regarding this hitch, it’s great and I have towed thousand of miles with mine with zero complaints. I’d be more concerned about how close you are to being maxed on the towing numbers. Remember, the decision to be okay with that isn’t just about you, it can impact everyone’s lives that you pass on the highway.
