4-Flat Wiring Harness For 2022 Audi Q5 S-Line

Updated 06/01/2026 | Published 05/24/2026

Question:

Hi, I have purchased probably 10 hitches from you over the years and a few wiring harnesses. I have a need to tow a U-Haul from Durango, CO back to Virgninia using my daughters 2022 Audi Q5 S-Line. It has a hitch installed that I bought from E-Trailer but i cant find a harness recommendation. Do you sell one or can you recommend one? Thanks! Chris

Hey Chris, thanks for reaching out. We do have a wiring harness you can use on a 2022 Audi Q5 S-Line. There are no custom plug-in harnesses for that vehicle, but we do have a universal splice-in harness that will work. Here is what I recommend:

- Curt Powered Tail Light Converter w/ 4-Way Flat Trailer Connector and Install Kit # C59496

This comes with quick splice connectors you can use to tie into the vehicles taillight and brake light circuits, and it comes with a test to help find the correct wires. It's a great way to add 4-flat wiring to vehicles that don't have any custom options available.

The Curt Powered tail light converter w/4 way flat connector. I just installed one on a 2024 BMW x5. In conjunction with a 7way connector universal kit and curt Bluetooth brake controller. Installation is straight forward. Pay special attention to instruction sheet in relation to what type of signal you have for tail light, turn and brake. It dictates how you wire the converter. I followed the wiring diagram on the converter and it was slightly wrong for my application.

@Charly Thanks for sharing your experience, Charly! That's a great tip about double-checking the signal type before wiring the converter, especially on newer vehicles like the BMW X5 where the lighting circuits can be a little different than expected. I'm glad you got it sorted out, and I appreciate you pointing out that the converter instructions ended up being more accurate for your application than the wiring diagram itself. That kind of real-world feedback can save the next installer a lot of troubleshooting time.
