That's a great question, Vitaliy.

The Yakima Replacement SpeedKnob and Wedge Assembly # 8880508 does not come with a new lock core or key. It does include a control key that allows you to remove your existing lock core and install it into the new locking knob.

To remove the old lock core, it does need to be in the unlocked position. If it’s locked, the control key will not be able to remove it.

If you also need a replacement lock core and matching key, you can order them separately. For example, lock core # Y8771-A150 would use replacement key # Y8772-A150.

If you already have a specific key number you’d like to match, let me know and I can get the correct part numbers for you.

Also worked great for me. It does not come with a lock and key, but I didn’t use that function anyway. I just use my u lock and a cable to the hitch if I’m gonna need to secure the bikes. But seriously great replacement product.
