Question:
Is the KHR1378D Kodiak hub and rotor coated with anything that needs to be cleaned off before installation?
asked by: Richard K
Expert Reply:
No, it doesn't Richard. The Kodiak 13" Hub and Rotor item # KRH1378D doesn't come pregreased or coated with anything. What I do like to do for my own peace of mind though is take a clean towel and thoroughly wipe off the inside of the hub before you install the bearings.
Once you get the Kodiak item # KRH1378D installed, I highly recommend cleaning off any bearing grease/oil and grime before you reinstall the calipers and pads.
Do you use oil bath or a standard grease setup on your trailer?

I did not need to clean either, everything was already perfect. I did wipe both parts of each wheel with a lint free cloth. That was it. Very glad we purchased from etrailer!

I did not need to clean the rotor before installing it. The rotor was clean when I received it.
