Best tonneau cover for 2026 Silverado EV with midgate

Hi Bryan, I want to be upfront with you right away, we do not currently have a retractable tonneau cover that is confirmed to work with the midgate on your 2026 Silverado EV Trail Boss. I know that’s probably not the answer you were hoping for, but the way the midgate functions limits what can sit in the canister area near the cab, and that’s what prevents retractable covers from fitting properly without interfering or needing to be removed. The retractable canister occupies the front 10–12 inches of the bed, which is the exact area needed for the midgate to fold down.

Right now the only option we have that’s been confirmed to work with the midgate is the Access Limited Edition Soft Roll Up Tonneau Cover part # A68QS. I double checked with our vendors on this because I didn’t want you ending up with something that doesn’t actually work with your setup, and this is the one we can confidently stand behind for fitment. It keeps your bed covered when you need it and rolls up out of the way cleanly when you want to take advantage of the midgate, so you’re not fighting the cover or having to uninstall anything.

I know the retractable style is appealing, especially for the cleaner look and convenience, but with how new the Silverado EV platform is, we’re still waiting on manufacturers to design something that works around that midgate without causing issues. I’d rather point you to something that works right now than risk you ending up with something that doesn’t fit the way you need.
