Replacement AC With Heat Pump for RV

Sir/Maam, I have a 36 RV that needs replacement A/C Heat pump. It has two propane furnaces. The thermostat is a 5-button Dometic. I am looking at the GE Profile 15,000 btu 2 units with an updated thermostat prefer wifi. What recommendations would you have for a complete package? Thank you for your help. Regards, Mike

Hey Mike! The GE Appliances Low-Profile RV AC w/ Heat Pump # GE58RR will work for your setup if it is ductless. If you have a ducted system you need # GE26RR instead. Both are compatible with your furnaces, but Wi-Fi is not an option.
You may be able to find a smart thermostat if you want that functionality, but it will have to be compatible with the new R32 refrigerant. All of the options we carry like the Waltech # WA74FR have not updated their software yet for R32 compatibility. I know they're working on it so it will roll out eventually.
The closest thing we have to Wi-Fi or wireless control is the Chill Cube which uses a remote as the thermostat. The Chill Cube is also the best option on the market right now. It is incredibly efficient, quiet, and easy to install. For heat pump models you can choose from the following based on ducted/ductless and color:
-Furrion Chill Cube RV Air Conditioner w/ Heat Pump - Ductless - 18K Btu - White - R32 # FR87TQ
-Furrion Cube RV Air Conditioner w/ Heat Pump - Ductless - 18K Btu - Black - R32 # FR77TQ
-Furrion Chill Cube RV Air Conditioner w/ Heat Pump - Ducted - 18K Btu - White - R32 # FR67TQ
-Furrion Chill Cube RV Air Conditioner w/ Heat Pump - Ducted - 18K Btu - Black - R32 # FR97TQ
They have a version with a wall thermostat but it doesn't always work with the furnace depending on the model. I recommend leaving your Dometic thermostat in place and using it to operate the furnace just like it does now.

Robin, Thank you for your response. Low profile is more important to me than efficiency (better to die than to look bad). So I think I will stick with the GE. I have a common plenum but it has ducts that flow out from it. The current set up seems to run as a ductless and dumps all of the air into the room right under the A/C unit. You can close the outlet (like a register in a house) and it will then divert the air through the ducts. I don't really like the arrangement because it doesn't seem to flow as nice. So I think a ductless would be the solution. Would I have to wire new thermostats to each unit or can I use the old location with its telephone wire connection to each location with a common thermostat? Do the units automatically call the furnaces or is that a separate call by the thermostat like my current 5-button Dometic? (you actually select the furnace manually) The RV is a 2004 Foretravel 36' with two units. Thank you so much for the help. Regards, Mike Canino
