Hey Ed,

To get the right weight distribution hitch with sway control I really need the loaded tongue weight of your trailer. Enclosed trailer tongue weight is too variable to guess based on what you load in it.

Easiest way to get this is load the trailer how you plan to tow it, go to a local truck stop with a scale, and weigh the truck and trailer together. Then unhook the trailer and weigh the truck by itself. The difference in the weight of the truck between the two is your loaded tongue weight.

I'll say that one of the Blue Ox Sway Pro systems is going to be the best for you, but the right one is going to be based on the tongue weight number you provide.

If you're between 1000 and 1500lbs of tongue weight the # BLU54TR would be the best, or if your between 700 - 1000lbs the # BXW1000 would be right, but as your truck has a 2-1/2" receiver you'd need a reducer sleeve # 325-GH-007 to use the included 2" shank.

Let me know what numbers you get and I'd be happy to confirm all of this for you.

What are you using the trailer for now? Work? or just hauling toys around?
