Hey Paul, the Kenda ST205/75D14 # AM1ST52 and the Loadstar part # AM1ST86 are both very similar bias ply tires with the big difference being the tread pattern. The part # AM1ST52 has more of an automotive style tread pattern which you are seeing more and more on trailer tires whereas the # AM1ST86 is more like what you normally see on bias ply trailer tires.

I would recommend the part # AM1ST86 as it seems to be the one our customers like better.

Is there a reason you wanted bias ply over radials?

well I'm replacing Carlisle sport trail bias tires - no complaints except they wore out pretty fast. I picked Bias last time bc they have stiffer sidewalls and made it easy to back up at the boat ramp - we boat every week. Do you think Radial is better for me ? Recommendation?

@Paul Generally we recommend radials over bias ply unless there's an off-road element going on. I've never heard of bias plys helping back up a boat trailer though. That's super interesting. How exactly does it help? If you went with a radial the part # KE28KV would work well.

@JamesonC those are range D tires - my trailer says 4 range C tires - Package weighs 4200 with trailer. Won't D make it ride harsher? As for backing up i noticed it when cutting sharp the original GY Marathons i had would fold over a little. The only off roading i do is the 1/2 mile dirt trail to our ski lake.

@Paul The difference shouldn't be that noticeable in harshness. But you'd be able to inflate the tires to a higher psi which would avoid them folding over like you mentioned. What PSI were you inflating the tires to?
