Question:
I have a 2025 ford ranger with factory tow hitch with both 4 and 7 way plugs. I do not have the factory tow brake. I’m wanting to add one to my truck. Looking to see what parts I would need. I installed your trailer brake product on my 2002 ford ranger that didn’t have a 7way plug

Hey Roy, thanks a lot for all the info, it helps find what you need!
You are looking for a brake controller, and since you already have the 7 way for brakes, it makes it easy for you.
If you want a simple, easy to use brake controller, I'd grab the Curt TriFlex NEXT Trailer Brake Controller w/ Plug-In Harness - 1 to 4 Axles - Proportional # C67PQ. It comes with a custom fit harness that plugs into your brake controller port under the dash. No wiring or splicing needed!
There's also an option from Curt that is wireless and uses bluetooth to connect to an app on your phone. That one is the Curt Echo brake controller # C51180. The nice thing is there is nothing that gets installed under your dash so everything remains factory up there; the Curt Echo just plugs into your 7 way. The trade off is that we find the hard wired controllers tend to be what most people want since you can just hit manual override and adjust settings on the fly instead of using your phone app.
Let me know what you think! What do you plan to tow with the new Ranger Roy?
