Question:
I have tandem bent - both Dexter 5200 lbs straight axles and without taking wheels off, I measure 97 to 98 hub face and 76 to 77 spring center. Am I measuring wrong? Also, I would really like to go to Timbren. The frame is 2 x 6 tube. Do you think installing the Timbren is something a shade-tree mechanic can do.

It absolute is Clinton! Installing the Timbren Axle-Less Trailer Suspension System item # T54KV is going to be pretty easy for someone who's got experience working on their vehicles or trailers. The most complicated part is going to be getting the trailer jacked up and off the ground so you can remove your bent axle and suspension hangers.
The Timbren item # T54KV will definitely work with your 2" x 6" frame. You'll either bolt or weld the brackets directly to your frame. I highly recommend marking your frame above where your axles currently sit. This will make sure you don't throw off the geometry of your trailer.
Thanks for providing those measurements. I did take a look at our inventory and we do not have a traditional axle that matches the hub face dimension of your bent one.
What kind of trailer do you have?

I am thinking about going with the 4" drop 5200# Timbren rather than the "no drop" and other than my fenders will need to be remounted, I wonder what trouble I could run into. FIY, the stock conventional axle is straight and 5200#.
