Can MaxxFan Vent # MA00-03810W Be Wired To Draw Air In With Lid Open?

Is it OK to wire the MaxxFan Dome 6inch to draw air in? Thanks

Hey John,
The MaxxFan # MA00-03810W should not be wired to allow air in, as the only way to do that would be to wire it backwards to reverse the polarity, and doing so would cause the LED light to never work, as the diode will prevent the light from powering in reverse polarity.
There are no vents of this size designed to draw air in with the lid open.
Is there a specific reason you are wanting to use it this way?

Hi Sam, Thanks for responding. I realize now that the fan is single speed and I also don't need or want the LED. It seems like the way to go would be to lift the wire connection to the fan motor and put in a DPDT switch for reversing and also a speed control circuit. There are 14" options in this price range that have those features already, but I like the smaller size of the 6" fan.
