Question:

I’m looking to replace the pin box on my flagstaff RV. The stickers don’t have a model number. I have a S/N, LPI # and RPO#. I believe this is a 12” build, but need to be sure. S/N: S009321634 LGi Item Number: 20220062191 RPO- 0008740523 Can you please assist on the appropriate model number? Thanks!

Hey Pin! What you have there is a Lippert Turning Point. What are you trying to replace it with? If you're looking for a gooseneck pin box you can use the Gen-Y # GY48GR or Shocker Hitch # SHK69YR. Outside of those, the only option is to add another turning point which you would have to acquire through Lippert.

I'm looking to replace it with a shocker hitch 5th wheel (not gooseneck). SHK62MR

@PinH that won't work, it has to match the Turning Point bolt pattern. Nobody makes an aftermarket 5th wheel pin box to replace the turning point, the gooseneck pin boxes have been the only option for a while.

@RobinH What options do I have to reduce the shock and chucking behavior of the RV? Just the gooseneck replacement pin box? Or is there an add on I can add to the Turning Point?

@Leeandra you can't really add anything to the Turning Point. The Gen-Y # GY48GR and Shocker Hitch # SHK69YR are probably the best option. However, if you have a short bed clearance can be an issue. An offset ball may be available depending on your truck and configuration to help with that. If you have a really basic 5th wheel hitch moving to something nicer will help as well.
