Does the FR53XQ piston pump require a lot of effort? I’m 72 and don’t want something exhausting.

Good afternoon George; no it usually does not!
The Fill-Rite Piston Fluid Pump # FR53XQ uses a hand lever with a double piston design and moves 20 gallons per 100 strokes, which means fewer cycles to move the same fuel compared to the rotary crank version # FR98XQ.
It’s fully manual, but the higher output per stroke helps reduce how long you’re pumping. The wooden handle also stays comfortable in hot or cold weather. If you prefer a cranking motion instead of a lever stroke, the rotary # FR98XQ may feel more natural and less back and forth in the same motion.
Now if you really don't want any manual effort, I'd look at the 12v version # FR35XQ or the 115v version # FR75XQ.

Just a little diesel fuel here and there for equipment. Might get another for gasoline equipped vehicles like our side by side and gas gator. thanks for the help
