Do you sell the retractable spring loaded safety cables for boat trailers?

Hey, Tim.
We don't have anything that is spring loaded. We do have coiled safety cables like part # BLU22UR and # DM9523003. CE Smith who's a big name for marine/boat parts also make a set as well. Their part number is # CES72QR. They are a lower capacity and shorter then the ones you were looking at, 5000 lbs and 36" long, but the s-hooks are zinc coated so would be better for water use.

Not sure what you mean about the safety cables being spring loaded. These (the 15,000# safety cables from Blue Ox) are coiled, keeping the cable under tension the whole time. They also have a spring loaded keeper on each end, requiring you to depress the keeper/latch before you can disengage the hook. These are rated at 15,000#, but Blue Ox also offer 10,000 and 7,500# rated cables, same coiled design and spring loaded keepers. I tow a vehicle behind my motorhome, it's only about 6,000#, normally the 10,000# would be just fine ... and they're what I used with my prior motorhome. However, my most recent motorhome has a 20,000# rated hitch and a thicker baseplate. This meant the spring loaded keeper would not spring free. The 15,000# cables have a larger hook end and work perfectly, the coiling naturally keeps them in tension and the keeper on both ends engages and keeps them fully secure. When in place, they probably are measuring 4' of extension, providing plenty of additional extension for turns, etc.
