Wiring for Dolly Towing 2026 Chevrolet Trax

Question:
I have a 2026 Chevrolet Trax active. I want to DOLLY tow it and have the car lights function, so I dont have deal with magnetic lights and wiring. When I called your product number this is the kit that was recommended. If this works, wonderful. I would not think a power wire to the box would be needed since the car is not powering anything. I just want to be sure it will not back feed and damage a computer or something. The car has incandescent taillights, and the brake lights illuminate when the brake pedal is depressed and the ignition is off. Please advise and I can get the kit ordered. Thanks, Tom

Hey Thomas! The Curt T-Connector # C93ZV is trailer wiring, designed to power the lights on a trailer if you're towing with your Trax. If you want the lights to work on the Trax while dolly towing you need tow bar wiring like the Roadmaster Smart Diode Kit # RO94FR.
It is also worth mentioning that your typical tow dolly like the Roadmaster # RM-2050-1 has lights to keep you compliant. The additional wiring/lights aren't required.
