Question:

Hello, I have a 2024 Ford Maverick Hybrid Lariat FWD that I am trying to get set up for Flat Towing. 1st question- What Base Plate would you recommend that requires minimum to no trimming? Exact model plz. 2nd - what other products do I need such as tow bar, battery charger, wiring? 3rd do you know of any installers near zip 31069 or 30635? Thank you

Hey Kellie! All of the base plates will require some trimming but the etrailer Invisible Base Plate Kit # e64FV requires the least (Demco as well, shared design). You will also need a tow bar, safety cables, wiring, and a supplemental brake system. I recommend the following:

-etrailer SD Non-Binding Tow Bar # e34ZR (includes safety cables)

-etrailer Tow Bar Cover # e76FV (optional)

-Roadmaster 4-Diode Universal Wiring Kit for Towed Vehicles # RM-15267

-Roadmaster Battery Charge Line Kit # RM-156-25

-Demco Stay-IN-Play Duo Braking System # DM86VR

The Stay-IN-Play Duo is designed for hydraulic brakes. If your motorhome has air brakes you need the Demco Air Force One # DM26VR instead. The tow bar has a built-in rise/drop so you won't need a high-low adapter to stay level.

I went ahead and attached a link further down on this page for local installers. It looks like some of the higher rated options are Truck Guy Upfitters, TruXpro, and Athens Trailer Supply who have all done some flat tow installations for us. I recommend taking a look at the list and calling around to get some quotes.

What trip are you planning first once you get your Maverick set up?
