How To Separate Brake and Turn Signals on 2000 XJ
Updated 02/19/2026 | Published 02/16/2026 >
Question:
I want to tow my 2000 XJ behind my motor home. I want the amber turn signals and run/brk lights to operate independently from each other. Is there a part I need to do this from a 4 post connector off my Brake Buddy Stealth all in one connector Or am I going to have to run a separate turn signal wire through a second connector plug on the MH to a 4 post on the Jeep dedicated to just the turn signal socket? Hopefully not option 2.

Hi Wes, welcome back! To separate those signals all you need is the Curt 2-to-3 Tail Light Converter # C56196. This takes the 2 wire from the motorhome side and converts it to a 3 wire for your XJ. You do not have to run a separate turn signal wire.
Where are you headed once you get the XJ set up for towing?
