Question:
What controller would you recommend for use in both a 2004 Chevrolet Silverado 1500, extended cab, 2WD, 4.8L and a 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe GLX, FWD, 3.3L? I will mainly be pulling a popup tent trailer at about 3500# max.

Because you have two different vehicles the best option is going to be the Curt Echo Mobile # C51180 which connects to your vehicle's 7 way connection and is controlled via your Bluetooth enabled smartphone. The benefit is that you will not have to have extra mounting brackets and wiring for 2 different vehicles. Each vehicle just needs to have a functioning 7-Way.
You will need 7-Way connectors on each vehicle if you do not have them already. For the Santa Fe you would start by installing a 4-Way, # C56332 if the vehicle came with a factory tow package or # C56184 if it did not come with the factory tow package.
Then you will need installation kit # ETBC7L to add the 7-Way and install the brake controller. I have included some links that show and explain the # ETBC7L installation.
