Hi Michael!

We definitely have tire chains for those 265/70R18 tires. The problem is, when I checked the owner's manual for a 2024 Lexus GX 550 to see if you needed Class S rated chains (the ones for low/limited wheel well clearance), it said you cannot use tire chains with that tire size. This typically means there are things on the back of the wheel that can be damaged by chains and/or there is not enough clearance for them, but you may be able to contact a Lexus dealer to get more info on that.

With that said, when we run into this, we recommend the Konig K-Summit Tire Chains - Diamond Pattern - Square Link - Self Tensioning - 1 Pair # KON24FR. Yes, these are very expensive. However, with how the chains are designed, there is nothing on the back of the tire. The chains only sit on top of the tire. These are also Class S, so they will fit low clearance situations as well.

Are you needing these for every day use, or are you traveling somewhere they will be required by law?

Thank you for your very helpful response. I need chains for episodic severe snow/ice. I live on a steep private mountain road. Yes, I will check with the dealership What cable chains do you recommend for a 2012 FJ Cruiser? Size 265/70R17.Easiest to install.

@MichaelM You're very welcome! Sounds like you definitely need chains, so hopefully the dealership gives you good news! As to the 265/70R17 tires on your FJ Cruiser, I recommend the following options: On Road use (can be used off-road in an emergency - standard duty: Titan Chain Tire Chains - Diamond Pattern - Square Link - Assisted Tensioning - 1 Pair # TC2526 On or Off-Road use - medium duty: Titan Chain Tire Chains w/ Cams - Ladder Pattern - Twist Link - Assisted Tensioning - 1 Pair # TC2228CAM On or Off-Road use - heavy duty: Titan Chain Snow Tire Chains w Cams - Ladder Pattern - V Bar Links - Assisted Tensioning - 1 Pair # TC2828CAM You will also want to grab the # PW97 adjuster if you go with the medium or heavy duty option. Don't want the chains whipping around when you are driving. The standard duty chains have an adjuster built in, so you wouldn't need one for those. If you specifically wanted cables, you could use the Titan Chain Cable Tire Chain - Diagonal Pattern - Roller Links - Manual Tensioning - 1 Pair # TC747DC. Out of all the cables we offer, I would say these are the best due to their pattern. There is always something on the ground, unlike ladder pattern cables. I will admit to not being a fan of cables though. They tend to not last very long and chains have always been more reliable and offer better traction.
