How To Turn When Using Plowser Hitch-Mounted Residential Snow Plow on Ford Expedition

Updated 02/09/2026 | Published 01/28/2026

Question:

How would you recommend turning with the plow attached? I’m planning to attach it behind my Ford Expedition SUV. With three garages and 2-car-wide slightly inclined 35-yard driveway what would be the best technique? Thanks!

Hey Alex! The Plowser Hitch-Mounted Residential Snow Plow # PL53YR is designed for straight plowing in one direction. Once you push the snow down your drive the best thing to do is pull straight forward, adjust into position again, and then push more uncleared snow straight down the drive.

You can make turns to get yourself back into position to plow the snow, what you need to avoid is turning while pushing a lot of snow so you don't overload the plow. It wouldn't hurt if you're pushing a bit at the top of the drive getting the plow where you want it.

You probably have other cars in the garage so they might be in the way at the top of the drive. Once you clear the initial path you can work in smaller rows, or take it at a slight angle if that helps so you have room to maneuver. I drive an Expedition as well, so I understand this might be a bit difficult to pull off given the size of the vehicle. Controlled, straight passes will give you the best results.

Did you get a lot of snow in the last big storm?

@Alex oh wow, that is a lot! That would be a little too much for the Plowser but for anything 10" and under you'd be set.
