Question:

What is the current draw for the smaller RV furnaces, probably the 20,000 BTU models. I do a lot of boon-docking and need to keep electrical demands to a minimum Thank-you

Hey Robert, welcome back! The 20,000 Btu RV furnaces like the Dometic item # DMC86RR you were looking at draw 4.8 amps. It runs off of propane, measures 20" deep x 7" tall x 12" wide, can be installed vertically or horizontally, and works great on trailer's up to 20' long.

Unless you have a compatible AC system, you'll need the Dometic Digital Thermostat item # DMC84RR to control item # DMC86RR.

What kind of trailer or camper do you have and how cold are you expecting it to get where you boon-dock?

Hey Robert, how did things go with the Dometic furnace and thermostat setup for your boondocking trips? Did the 4.8-amp draw work out well for keeping your power use low? Your feedback could really help others planning off-grid stays.
