Do GE AC Unit Thermostat Dipswitches Need to be Moved for Using Furnace and Heat Pump

Updated 01/27/2026 | Published 01/07/2026

Question:

Have 2 newly installed GE aeh15aacbl2 a/c units installed. They replaced the original ge a/c units. The thermostats are Dometic GYG-E64AVU. V10 2024-03-14 numbers from backside of thermostat that are original to my class a rig. The heat pumps don’t come on and neither will the dometic furnace. Do I need a different thermostat or do I need to change some dip switch settings on the a/c units and/or the back of the thermostats.? Thank you

Hey John, thanks for the picture that looks like it came from the instructions and your thermostat. You do need to move the first and last dipswitches up and that will allow both the furnace and the heat pump to function.

Hey John, how did things go after you moved the first and last dip switches up on your GE units? Did that get both the furnace and heat pump running like you wanted? Your update could make it easier for the next person setting up the same system.

@JamesonC Changing the dip switch configuration was the key to getting the furnace to work from the thermostat.
