Replacing Old WFCO WF-9855 12V AC to DC Converter For Winnebago Minnie Travel Trailer

Question:
Will the PowerMax PM94VR 55 amp converter work as a replacement for my old WFCO WF-9855? It's in a Winnebago minnie travel trailer

Daniel, yes - the PowerMax # PM94VR 55 amp is a direct replacement for the WFCO WF-9855 standalone converter. Both units serve the same role in the system, converting shore power to 12V DC to charge the batteries and feed the DC fuse panel for your 12v loads/accessories.
As long as your existing setup uses a separate DC distribution panel which the WF-9855 does, the # PM94VR will wire in the same way. This keeps the amperage the same, which is usually the simplest and safest option if your battery bank and loads haven’t changed. If you actually for some reason got confused and actually have a converter section inside a power distribution panel, then you'd need a different setup.
Also, if you’ve made any battery upgrades since the WFCO was installed, let me know and we can double-check if this unit is still the correct amperage for everything. Have a good day! Let me know what you think.
