Replacement Converter for WFCO-9865-AD

Hello, I have a WFCO 9865AD Converter in my trailer, 2020 Forest River Stealth Toy Hauler. Its not working correctly. Can you please recommend a converter to replace this? Thank you, Jeff

Hey Jeff, welcome back! I recommend replacing it with the Progressive Dynamics 9300 Series RV Converter Charger # PD79RR. This is compatible with lead acid, AGM, and LiFePO4 batteries and has a 60 amp converter rating. It is the same deck mounted style so it should be an easy swap with your old WFCO.

Hi Robin, Thanks for the information. Is it dimensional the same? If not do you have the dimensions so I can confirm fitment? Also, I see the MFG offer this converter/charger in an 80amp. Would this be a good option as well? Would it charge the batteries quicker? Thank you for your help! Jeff

@JeffC the # PD79RR measures 8" L x 9" W x 3-5/8" D. That WFCO is listed as 6.3" wide x 3.9" high x 10.3" deep so similar dimensions but not exactly the same. If your batteries can take the higher amperage the # PD89RR would charge faster, although I don't think it is enough of a difference to matter. More than likely your existing wiring can't handle it so you would also need to swap that out for 4 gauge copper or 2 gauge aluminum.
