Trailer Wiring For A 2014 Buick Enclave Without Towing Package

Updated 01/19/2026 | Published 12/24/2025

Question:

Good morning, I have a customer that is requesting to put a hitch on a 2014 Buick Enclave. It does not have the towing package equipped so I am trying to figure out what harness is needed to install the trailer light wiring. The website only gives the 7-way / 4-way plug, but does not give a harness to supply power. Thanks

Hi Blake!

You are going to want the Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness for Factory Tow Package - 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # 118270. This includes the fuses and relays needed to activate the tow package as your customer's 2014 Buick Enclave was not equipped with it. It's plug and play, so you will not need to run any separate wires to get the job done.

As a side note, if they wanted a 7-way, they could get the Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness for Factory Tow Package - 7-Way Trailer Connector # 118271 instead. It also includes the fuses/relays and is plug and play.

If these aren't what you mean and I got that totally wrong, just let me know.

If you don't already have a hitch picked out for them, the etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Matte Black Finish - Class III - 2" # e98863 is a great choice. Yes, it is our hitch, but I prefer the matte black finish we use as it helps it blend in better than the glossy finish other manufacturers use. More of a stock look, in my opinion.

Hey Blake, how did things go with the Tekonsha wiring harness for your customer’s Buick Enclave? Did the plug-and-play setup make it easy to get the trailer lights working? Your update could make it easier for others doing the same upgrade.
