Recommended Quiet Air Distribution Box for Older Dometic AC Systems

Published 12/14/2025

Question:

We have two things we don’t like about our AC unit. It is a ductless Dometic AC that 1. is very loud!!! 2. Isn’t connected to a thermostat. 1. Would this item make it quieter? Air Distribution Box for Dometic Brisk II HE RV Air Conditioners - Manual Control - White Part Number: DMC35Z It looks exactly like the inside portion of our AC unit we currently have. I saw Craig and Victoria from Wild RV Life install a sound reducing cover on their bedroom ducted AC unit. However, it doesn’t have any controls on the cover that I could see. 2. Is there anything we can add to our Dometic AC so it will shut off or on when the Temperature reaches set points IE connected to a thermostat?

Hey Elaine. The Air Distribution Box for Dometic Brisk II HE RV Air Conditioners item # DMC35ZR is designed to quite the sound of the air coming into your RV. If you're concerned about the loud noise the AC unit itself makes, I do not have a solution for you. It does have the temperature controls built into the unit but they're not going to kick on or off at a certain temperature.

You could install the Dometic CT Thermostat and Control Board item # DMC63ZR. This would allow you to set the temp on your AC similar to how you would at home.

What model is your Dometic AC unit? I'll need to know that to confirm both of these parts are compatible with your setup.

You can add this information, along with any other questions you have, where it says Reply to Jerred H.
