Question:

Looking to get creative... Im going to remove weak rollers on my boat lift and replace them with heavy duty rollerslike on a boat trailer that can be attached to the boat lift frameideally using the current aluminum arms there now. Im thinking I need min. 2-4 wheels for each of the back two armsholds most of the Wakeboard boats weight, and then just 2 wheels for each of the front two arms. Do you have a product that would work? Can I send you a photo to help explain more. Thank you!

Meanwhile, take a look at the Tie Down Roller Bunks for Boat Trailers 4' Long item # TD27FR and 5' Long item # TD87FR. These are typically attached to boat trailer bunks to make loading boats easier. They could easily be attached to the frame of your boat lift. They measure 2-1/2" tall by 4-7/16" wide. The polyvinyl rollers won't mark up your wakeboards hull and they're attached to a galvanized steel frame.

We also have the Tie Down Roller Bunks item # TD64FR 4' Long or item # TD74FR which are 5' long. These are a bit less expensive because they have rubber wheels.

How long is your lift frame?

Hey Ernie, how did things go with adding the Tie Down roller bunks to your boat lift frame? I'm curious if the poly or rubber rollers gave you the support you needed for your wakeboard boat. Your update could make it easier for others working on a similar lift setup.

Thanks Jerred, Great info. I definitely don't mind spending a little more money to get the more heavy duty of the options. Here is a pic. The distance between the two points is probable 7 to 8 feet.. I've got 2x6's there now to act like a guide when I pull the boat into the lift, keeps it centered.. They are pretty bouncy, so I'd have to double them up to install the long rollers unless I did heavy rollers that attach to the uprises in the pics now... Thanks for you help!

@Ernie Thanks for the picture and you're welcome! You would definitely need to add some additional support, to install two of the Tie Down Roller Bunks for Boat Trailers 4' Long item # TD27FR. That would take care of the bouncing issue as well. Stacking them on top of the 2x6s in your current configuration would eliminate the need for the two spool rollers you have now. I don't see a way to add upgraded spool rollers on your current setup without adding additional aluminum supports in the middle. At least not in a way that would make a noticeable difference. You could swap out the rubber ones with a polyurethane style like item # YR510Y-4. These measure 5" long x 3" diameter. If you could drill into the sides of the aluminum and attach 2x6's that way, instead of over the top, you could install a couple of the 4' Tie Down Roller Bunks item # TD27FR on each side and have the height match your current rollers.
