Will Shocker Hitch Gooseneck Coupler Have Same Turning Clearance as Turning Point
Updated 12/08/2025 | Published 12/07/2025 >
Question:
2021 Grand design reflection 268bh with the turning point. I see the other shocker model with the air bag claims it adds another 3in for better cab clearance. does this one keep the same location as the factory turning point? also hows the gen-y gooseneck conversion location over the factory turning point also?

Hey Chan, the Shocker Hitch part # SHK29YR will not have nearly the same turning clearance as a Turning Point pin box since the pivot point is fixed and not turning like the Turning Point. So if you are looking for more turning clearance than what you have now while also converting to a gooseneck this won't work. BUT what bed length do you have?
Do you have a gooseneck hitch already?

I guess I should have clarified. my 2020 sierra 2500 short bed can almost make 90 degree turn WITH the pin box locked. I don't use the actual function of the turning point or care for it. I want to throw away the stupid heavy 5th wheel hitch in the trash and run a goose ball. I can work with the current clearance I have now just don't want to loose anymore turning clearance. My question is the position/pivot point of the turning point pin box still kept the same with the standard shocker hitch. also same question as well for the gen-y hitch.
