Does Counter Island Need To Be Removed When Replacing Refrigerator In 2017 Grand Design Solitude

Question:

I have to replace my 2017 grand solitude Norcold refrigerator four door and they said that my whole island is going to have to be removed to replace the Refrigerator is that true?

Hello Robin. That can be true on some Solitude models but not 100% of the time. It depends on the specific floor plan and whether or not the fridge can physically clear the cabinets or island when pulled out. In some cases the island, or at least part of the island needs to come off so the fridge can make it through. Not every floorplan is that tight so it really depends. You can measure the width and depth of the fridge with the doors removed, then measure the distance between the edge of the countertop and the edge of the island. That will give you an idea of what you are in for.

Hi Robin, were you able to take those measurements around your island and fridge? Once you had the numbers, did it look like the fridge could clear without removing the island? Your update could make it easier for others working with a similar Solitude layout.
