Recommended Disc Brakes for a 2025 Brinkley Z 2670 w/ 7,000 lbs Axles

Good morning, I am interested in the electric over hydraulic conversion kit. I have a 2025 Brinkley Z 2670, my tow vehicle is a 2025 GMC 2500 AT4 HD, with a 6.6 L diesel engine. Which kit would I need and do I need the GMC module for my truck? I can send a picture of the axle tag. I know it is a Curt 7000 pound axle

Hey Mark, thanks for the information! It looks like the 2025 Brinkley Z 2670 has stock 17-1/2" wheels with 1/2" lug studs. I recommend the DeeMaxx Disc Brake Kit w/ Actuator for Tandem Axle Trailers item # DE66AR.

The DeeMaxx item # DE66AR comes with everything you need to upgrade your Brinkley to disc brakes. The four hubs come with all the bearings, races, and seals you'll need, along with brake pads. The included lines, fittings, and disc brake actuator will get you all set up and running.

The newer GM factory brake controllers are compatible with EOH braking systems. However, you will need to have the latest update if your truck was included in the recall.

I appreciate the offer to send me a picture of your axle tag. I've got all the relevant information I need based on the capacity, manufacturer of the axle, and Brinkley's website. Hey Mark, I just got your email and picture. Your hubs have 9/16" lug studs so the DeeMaxx item # DE66AR isn't going to work. There isn't a kit available with 9/16" studs but we do have all the parts you'll need and I have listed them below: DeeMaxx Disc Brakes - 13" Hub/Rotor - 8 on 6-1/2 item # DE63AR - You will need two sets. DeeMaxx Alpha G1600 Electric Over Hydraulic Actuator for Disc Brakes item # DE47SR DeeMaxx Hydraulic Brake Line Kit item # DE57SR

@JerredH Thanks Jerred, I have one more question, The De63AR set mentioned it is for a 8000 lbs axle. I have 7000 lbs axles, does that make a difference ?

@MarkL Yes, it does and I am sorry for the back and forth confusion. The 8,000 lbs DeeMaxx Disc Brakes item # DE63AR aren't going to work on your Curt 7,000 lbs axles. In the 5 years I've been doing this I have never seen a 7,000 lbs axle with 9/16" lug studs and not all these kits are rated to work for 17-1/2" wheels. I reached out to our vendors and I was able to find you a complete kit that is going to work. It's the Hydrastar Disc Brake Kit w/ Actuator for Tandem Axle Trailers item # HYD87VR. Your axles have a C865H spindle which requires a inner bearing item # 25580 and outer bearing item # 14125A. The Hydrastar Kit item # HYD87VR includes everything you need. Brake lines, rotors/hubs/pads with all bearings races and seals, and a GM compatible EOH actuator. The hubs do fit your C865H spindles and have 9/16 lug studs. I do not have a Demaxx kit that's going to work.
