Question:
Is there any reason I shouldn’t use this hitch for a hitch-mounted snowboard rack on my 2025 Crosstrek Base model?

No worries at all, Taylor - that’s a perfect setup. The TowSmart # TS68ZR gives your Crosstrek a 2-inch receiver and solid 675-lb tongue weight rating, so it’ll easily handle a snowboard or ski rack.
I’d just recommend a locking hitch pin for security, but it might depend on the carrier you have. If it doesnt use anything proprietary, Id use something like Anti-Rattle Hitch Lock and Cable Lock for 2" hitches # e88RV which comes with an anti rattle lock for the hitch to keep everything sturdy, and a cable lock to keep the snowboard and rack secured to the receiver.
Are you hitting local slopes this winter or taking a longer mountain road trip? I’d love to see what setup you end up running!
