How Much Clearance Does B and W Companion Slider Leave 2024 Ford F-350 for Tool Box

Question:
I have a 2024 F350 and considering an in bed aux fuel tank. I have concerns about 5th wheel hitches footprint around the OEM puck system. Specifically how far forward toward cab does the hitch frame /rails extend past the center of the forward puck? With a short bed truck I want a slider hitch. Don’t have a hitch in mind just looking for how much space I need for “any” slider hitch to fit and not interfere with my aux tank.

Hey Ron, all of the slider hitches that fit the OEM pucks of your 2024 Ford F-350 have slightly different dimensions but an example of one that has probably the best clearance would be the B and W Companion slider for Ford rail kits part # BWRVK3370 which has a distance of 7-1/2 inches from the center of the front pucks to the front of the hitch. So to know how much room you'd have for a tool box with this hitch installed you'd need to measure 7-1/2 inches forward of the center of the pucks in your truck bed.
