Why Can't The MaxxFan Plus Roof Vent MA00-04500K Be Used Above A Shower?

MA00-04500K says not to use above tub or shower. Why? Is there a MaxxFan that is same as 4500K that can be used above shower? Want to replace babyinch 4 inch fan that is located in the shower stall. This is the only ceiling fan in our 30ft TT so does nothing for air circulation. Thanks,

Hello DM, thanks for reaching out. The MaxxFan Plus Roof Vent # MA00-04500K should not be used in a shower or bath tub. The reason for this is there is a risk of water damaging the electrical components inside the vent.

If you need to put a vent in your shower area, you will need to use a non-powered vent like the MaxxAir Mini Manual RV Roof Vent - White # MA00-03700 or # MA00-03750 for Black. These vents have a rain shield cover which allows them to be used in any weather and also while driving.

Hey DM, did one of the non-powered MaxxAir Mini vents end up working for your shower area? Knowing how it performed could help others trying to improve airflow in a similar setup.

@JesseM Haven't decided yet what to try. Probably won't decide until next March. Still leaning towards 04500K powered unit. Would not have on while using the shower only after to ventilate the moisture out.

@DM Ok gotcha! Just thought I'd check in. A powered unit could work just do your best to keep water out of the fan and keep all the electrical components dry. Just know that installing it in a shower would void the warranty so as long as you are ok with that risk you should be good.
