Do You Carry Tires for Strictly Towing a Boat Trailer On Sand?

Updated 12/01/2025 | Published 11/04/2025

Question:

Hi. Looking for dual-wheels for installing to my boat trailer. I tow the boat on sand. in the following link you can see the hubs, tires and some example video of what i do. i already have the tires lowon PSI, but it will help a lot to have more surface area to avoid the tires sinking when sand is soft and fluffy. Actual Tire size is 225/75/R15. Trailer is only towed on sand. I have been looking for extra-extra wide tires but canot find so iwant to explore dual wheel+tires 8 total Please advise

Hello Walter,

The best tire we carry for your application would be the Kenda ST235/75R15 Radial Off-Road Trailer Tire - Load Range D # KE68JR. I’ve reached out to our manufacturers, and unfortunately, none of them make a trailer tire specifically designed for sand. The # KE68JR is our best option because it’s the widest tire we offer and has the most aggressive tread pattern.

Since you are towing strictly on sand, I recommend looking into “paddle sand tires," these have specialized treads designed to help prevent sinking.

I am sorry we do not have something better that will work for you, but I hope this gets you on the right track.

Hey Walter, how did things go with the Kenda off-road tires on your boat trailer? I'm curious if they gave you better traction and kept the trailer from sinking in the soft sand. Your update could make it easier for others towing in similar conditions.
