Are There Locking Bolts That Can be Used with Curt Channel Mount Coupler part # C25329

Question:

Are there heavy duty locking pins that can be used in lieu of the bolts to lock the coupler assembly into the channel?

Hey Mark, no there aren't any locking pins you could use in place of the mounting bolts of the Curt Channel Mount Coupler part # C25329 that you referenced. Typically trailer thieves don't bring with them the exact size wrenches you'd need but what you could do is really torque the bolts down and even if someone had the right wrenches they wouldn't be able to get them loose.

Hey Mark, did torquing the bolts on your Curt channel-mount coupler give you the security you needed? Your results could help others looking for ways to keep their coupler assemblies locked down.

@JamesonC. After torquing the nuts down, I tacked a weld on the nuts so no one even with wrenches can loosen them.

Where do you actually find the recommended torque specs for the mounting bolts? I did not get instructions or can I find the torque specs on Curt’s website

@ScottK 159 ft lbs would be correct for the size hardware that comes with it.
